I started following Chris online several years ago. I liked how he viewed his role as a leader and his commitment to being a front-line leader at Scripps Health. I was also impressed with his outside activities as a volunteer EMT and volunteer Sheriff on the weekends. Although I had never met him in person, I asked him to write the Foreword for my book, “Prescribing Leadership in Healthcare” in 2017. His Foreword was perfect because it stressed the importance of leaders being authentic to who they are, which is a core tenet of my approach to leadership improvement.

Chris is nationally recognized for his leadership across all industries, not just in healthcare. In fact, he was the recipient of the Elite Leadership Academy‘s inaugural Leadership IMPACT Award in 2019. Since I moved to San Diego 3 years ago, I have had the opportunity to meet him in person and get to know him as a person. I can personally vouch for how he is just as authentic in person as he is online.
